Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Mundelein Elementary School District 75 believes in supporting the whole child through academics as well as social emotional learning. We utilize the resources from Second Step, Zones of Regulation, Leader in Me, and Calm Classroom to support our students and staff with research based strategies within the classroom.

Teachers and staff support students with Second Step and Zones of Regulation lessons throughout their instructional day.  Students are able to learn how to communicate effectively, collaborate with their peers and adults and practice strategies that will help them throughout their lives when processing their feelings.

Teachers and staff support students with Second Step and Zones of Regulation lessons through their  Eagle Time where students are able to learn how to communicate effectively, collaborate with their peers and adults and practice strategies that will help them throughout their lives when processing their feelings. 

MG_Wolf Mechanics Grove Elementary School, Grades 3-5

Teachers and staff support students with  Second Step lessons through their Wolf Pack Time.  Wolf Pack Time includes lessons from Second Step as well as Leader In Me where students are able to learn the seven habits of highly effective people:

  3. Put first things first
  4. Think Win-Win
  5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the saw

Teachers and staff support students through their Tiger Time.  Tiger Time includes lessons from Second Step as well as teacher developed lessons to address the unique needs of middle school students as they navigate through academic, emotional and physical changes associated with adolescence.
