Mundelein-area companies are lining up for a big race on Friday, Nov. 4. That’s when the District 75 STEAM Foundation will host its largest fundraiser of the year, “Night at the Races.”
The event will feature classic horse races and an opportunity for attendees to bet with play money for real prizes. The event will be held at Rosati’s in Mundelein on Friday, Nov. 4 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets ($35 for open seating) include betting tickets, appetizers, buffet dinner and soft drinks. A four-ticket package with a reserved booth is $200. A four-ticket package with a reserved table is $175.
All race winners will be awarded prizes. Live and silent auctions include prizes such as museum tickets, Cubs tickets, theater tickets, gift certificates, fitness classes, gift baskets, botanic gardens passes and more.
Anyone can sponsor a horse for just $25. Name your horse and jockey and they will appear in the evening’s race program along with your name. Those sponsoring a horse will win a prize if their horse wins, even if they are not present and did not place a bet.
The STEAM Foundation is still in need of business sponsors to help underwrite the cost of the event. There are three levels of sponsorship: Winners Circle ($1,000), Triple Crown ($500) and Trifecta ($250). All sponsors will receive: naming rights to a horse and jockey in one of the 10 races; a profile of the business on the STEAM Foundation website, a highlight on the Facebook feed, a listing on all publicity blasts and mentions on promotional materials and news articles.
Winners Circle sponsors will also get a full-page ad in the evening’s race program, six tickets to the event and a reserved booth or table. Triple Crown sponsors will receive a half-page ad in the evening’s race program, four tickets to the event and a reserved table. Trifecta sponsors will get a quarter-page ad in the evening’s race program and two tickets to the event. All contributions to the event are tax-deductible.
Sponsors to date include Old National Bank (Winners Circle), Center for Wellness (Triple Crown), Berger Excavating (Triple Crown), Mayor Steve Lentz (Trifecta) and F&W Law Group, LLC (Trifecta).
The D75 STEAM Foundation supports the summer and winter STEAM camps, the Young Science Explorer’s Program, the Mayor’s STEM Challenge, the Media Centers, the Robotics teams, the Multimedia Center, the Mundance Film Festival, grant teacher requests, scholarships for camps, the theater and band programs and other STEAM based initiatives.
