Dear Washington Families,
Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education releases the Illinois School Report Card, which provides families and communities with information about school performance, student growth, and progress toward improvement goals. I am pleased to share Washington Early Learning Center's 2026 results and celebrate the meaningful work happening across our school community.
This year, Washington earned an overall performance rating of Approaching Exemplary, reflecting strong performance across several important measures of school success.
We are especially proud of our results in the following areas:

● English Learner Progress: Exemplary, highlighting the success of our multilingual learners
● Consistent Attendance: Approaching Exemplary, reflecting our continued emphasis on ensuring students are present, connected, and ready to learn
● Academic Proficiency: Commendable, demonstrating a continued opportunity to strengthen student achievement
As a kindergarten through second-grade school, Washington plays a critical role in establishing the academic and social-emotional foundations that support students throughout their educational journey. Our teachers and specialists collaborate to provide strong foundational literacy instruction, meaningful math learning experiences, and targeted support that meets individual student needs.
We are particularly encouraged by our English learner progress and attendance results. Both reflect our commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment where students feel a sense of belonging, receive the support they need, and have opportunities to thrive.
Most importantly, these results reflect the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families. Your partnership matters, and we are grateful for the many ways you support your children's learning and connection to school.
