Announcement: Introducing the National Junior Art Honor Society

We have exciting news from the Carl Sandburg Middle School Fine Arts Department! We are officially piloting our first-ever chapter of the National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS).
Operating under the umbrella of the National Art Education Association, membership in this organization recognizes artistic exceptionality, fosters connectivity between peer artists, and provides leadership opportunities for students to serve as Visual Arts ambassadors within CSMS and the D75 community. These students are true exemplars of excellence who are dedicated to promoting art education at a high level.
To qualify for this inaugural group, students must be in 7th or 8th grade and have maintained at least a "B" average in their Art classes. Additionally, members must demonstrate a long-term commitment to the arts with 1.5 or more years of regular attendance in Art Club and receive a formal recommendation from the CSMS Art Teacher with social work input.
We look forward to sharing more updates with you as our NJAHS students progress through this exciting pilot year!
