The District 75 Board on Thursday approved the hiring of Jason Then as Carl Sandburg’s Interim Assistant Principal for the 2026-27 school year. Then, a Mundelein resident, will join Interim Principal Dan Bryant to form the leadership at CSMS this year.
“Jason has a lot of experience as a leader and a department chair,” Bryant said. “He’s very caring, very authentic and an active listener. He will be a great addition to our Sandburg team.”
During the past seven years, Then served as an English Language Arts Teacher at Big Hollow Middle School in Ingleside, Mahone Middle School in Kenosha and Wilmot Union High School in Wilmot, Wis. Prior to that, he taught at Salam Middle and High School in Milwaukee.
He gained leadership experience as the English Department Chair at both Wilmot and Salam high schools where he supervised and coached department staff and mentored colleagues on curriculum development and implementation.
Jason earned a Master of Science Degree in Administrative Leadership at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, a Master’s Degree in English education from Alverno College, Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and History from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
